Editorial: Cleaner waters

There’s some good news this week. The quality of our local waters has improved.Local waters closed to harvesting shellfish have declined about 1,000 acres over the past couple of years. While part of the reason may be drought conditions causing a decrease in bacteria counts, the fact remains that local waters, for the most part are cleaner.And for an area that still has a vibrant shellfish industry, that’s good news....
