Ruritans give $5,000 to GVFRS; $1,000 to GRA, Samaritans

The Abingdon Ruritan Club recently presented a $5,000 donation to Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad, continuing a long-standing partnership between the two community organizations. Don Sandridge, past president of the Abingdon Ruritan Club, presented the check on behalf of the club, calling GVFRS “one of the area’s most valued assets.” The donation was accepted by GVFRS president Bruce Soles, alongside Fire Chief J.D. Clements, during a brief ceremony at the station. “We’re grateful for the continued support from organizations like the Abingdon Ruritan Club,” said GVFRS president Bruce Soles. “Community partnerships like this directly support our ability to serve Gloucester County.” GVFRS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing emergency medical services to Gloucester County, Virginia, staffed by volunteers and career personnel dedicated to the health and safety of the community.
