Editor, Gazette-Journal: This is a short—but no less sincere—thank-you for the July 2, 2026 issue of the Gazette-Journal. There was clearly a tremendous amount of effort that went into that issue and I am incredibly grateful. The supplements alone are fantastic tributes to the 250th anniversary and to our place in history. The variety and depth of content—as well as the usual well-crafted, informative writing—make these supplements something I will keep and refer back to in the months ahead. Elsa Verbyla and Charlie Koenig are to be congratulated for their steadfast contribution to this community. Their even-handed approach along with their obvious passion for keeping readers informed and energized—so well supported by the paper’s excellent reporters and authors—is what has kept me a loyal devotee for many, many years.
