It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Earl Edward Ward Sr., 77, of Gloucester, Va., who peacefully passed away on June 27, 2026. Earl is survived by his beloved wife, Mary A. Ward of Gloucester; children, Earl Ward Jr. (Lynnita), Martha Ward, Rochester Ward, Jessica Minor (Alvin), and Chlo’e Robinson, all of Gloucester; grandchildren, Artarya “Tee” Ward, Briana James (Jarrell), Earl “Ejay” Ward III, Leon “Quarmain” Paige, and Amari Minor, all of Gloucester; great-granddaughter, Leilani Grandel of Gloucester; sister, Theresa “Rita” Skinner (Louis); niece, Consweller “Dee” Estrada (Victor), all of Baltimore, Md.; nephew, Anthony Underwood of Gloucester; aunt, Bertha Burrell of Gloucester, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends who affectionately called him Pop, Uncle Earl, Squirrel, and Rabbit.
A viewing will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026, from 6-8 p.m. and noon until the service Saturday at Zion Hill Baptist Church located at 10256 Indian Road, Gloucester, Va. 23061. Homegoing service will be held on Saturday, July 11, at 2 p.m. at the church. Interment following the service.
