THURSDAY BATTLE COMMEMORATION: A ceremony commemorating the Battle of Cricket Hill will be held at 10 o’clock today, Thursday, July 9, at Morningstar Marinas, 249 Mill Point Road, Hudgins. Presented by the Virginia Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, Mathews VA250 Committee, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, and the American Society of Le Souvenir Français, it is free and open to the public. Music by the U.S. Fleet Forces Band; participation by a French Army contingent of NATO and an SAR Color Guard.
