“It all started with a conversation over dinner and ended with a spectacular community fireworks celebration of the 250th anniversary of our country’s freedom. Pyrotechnico Inc. did an outstanding job,” said Mary Chapman, one of four members of the Mathews Fireworks Committee who helped organize Sunday night’s fireworks show over the East River at Williams Wharf. Chapman, Lynne White, Conrad Hall and Craig DeRemer made up the committee, “but this was truly a community effort,” Chapman said.
