Thunderstorms took out the Deltas home game last Saturday night, but thundering booms of the fun kind will be blasting from the outfield of Deltaville Ballpark this Saturday, July 4. The Deltas and the Deltaville Community Association have adjusted the previously published times because of the forecast high temperatures and heat index. The start time for the Deltas’ game against the Norfolk Benchwarmers is now 7 p.m., with gates opening at 6. The contest will be played as a shortened seven-inning regulation game, with an anticipated fireworks shoot time of about 9:30. Once the game concludes, fans will be invited onto the infield to take in the fireworks show from up close. The gates to the ballpark will also be opened, and anyone wanting to come in and see the celebration from the field will be welcome.
