Sail250

A group of Mathews County students took a trip to Norfolk last month to get a once-in-a-lifetime chance to take part in the Sail250 events in Norfolk, which was one of the host ports for this international event celebrating America’s semiquincentennial. For 10 days in June, 10,000 officers, cadets and crews of more than 60 ships from 20 nations engaged with residents and visitors across the Chesapeake Bay region in activities and programs “symbolic of the bonds of international goodwill,” according to the Sail250 Virginia website.
