Gloucester School Board approves personnel matters

The Gloucester County School Board approved several personnel matters during its last meeting, held on June 9 in the T.C. Walker Education Center auditorium.

In personnel appointments, Kasey Watkins of Gloucester was appointed to a music and choral teaching position at Peasley Middle School, effective Aug. 10; Hollie Woodcock of Richmond was appointed to a second grade teaching position at Petsworth Elementary School, effective Aug. 10; Samantha Carlton was appointed to a substitute teaching position, effective May 8; Natalie Johnson was appointed to a substitute teaching position, effective May 8; Mary Swist was appointed to a substitute paraprofessional position, effective May 8; and Destiny Wheeler was appointed to a substitute bus assistant position, effective May 18.

In reassignments, Sara Elliott was reassigned from an operations specialist position to an administrative associate position for the operations department, effective June 1; Christina Agee was reassigned from a regional autism teaching position at Petsworth to a speech language pathologist position at Botetourt Elementary School, effective Aug. 12; Heather Congrove was reassigned from a lead speech pathologist position to a regional autism teaching position at Petsworth, effective Aug. 12; Hannah Cramer was reassigned from a technology services position to a fifth grade teaching position at Bethel Elementary School, effective Aug. 12; Kayla Geller was reassigned from an elementary teaching position to a third grade teaching position at Abingdon Elementary School, effective Aug. 10; Karen McGrath was reassigned from a special education teaching position at Page Middle School to the same position at Abingdon, effective Aug. 12; Bethany Stone was reassigned from an elementary teaching position to a kindergarten teaching position at Botetourt, effective Aug. 10; Ashley Walton was reassigned from a second grade teaching position to a first grade teaching position at Petsworth, effective Aug. 12; Stacey Marsh was reassigned from a second grade teaching position to a fifth grade teaching position at Botetourt, effective Aug. 12; Christine Newcomb was reassigned from a fifth grade teaching position to a second grade teaching position at Botetourt, effective Aug. 12; Erica Reichard was reassigned from a special education teaching position at Abingdon to a seventh grade life science teaching position at Page, effective Aug. 12; Joy LaRue was reassigned from an eighth grade science teaching position at Page to a gifted resources teaching position, effective Aug. 12; Stephanie Nelson was reassigned from a sixth grade English language arts teaching position to a sixth grade science and history teaching position at Page, effective Aug. 12; Emma Saunders was reassigned from an early childhood special education teaching position at Abingdon to a pre-K teaching position at Bethel, effective Aug. 12; Stephanie Sawyer was reassigned from a kindergarten teaching position to a fourth grade teaching position at Bethel, effective Aug. 12; Anna Harwood was reassigned from principal at Abingdon to a reading specialist position at Page and Peasley, effective Aug. 12; Jessica Clarke was reassigned from a special education teaching position at Achilles Elementary School to a math interventionalist position at Petsworth, effective Aug. 12; Jessica Smith was reassigned from a paraprofessional position at Abingdon to the same position at Bethel, effective Aug. 17; Diana Brock was reassigned from a third grade teaching position at Abingdon to a paraprofessional position at Petsworth, effective Aug. 17; and Raven Carlton was reassigned as an administrative associate to food service financial manager at Central Food Service, effective July 1.

The board also approved several separations. Amanda Bantillo resigned from a paraprofessional position at Abingdon, effective June 5; Jennifer Bower resigned from a paraprofessional position at Abingdon, effective June 5; Loren Cockrell resigned from a paraprofessional position at Abingdon, effective June 5; Cassandra Reader resigned from a cafeteria worker position at Achilles, effective June 5; Shantell Thomas resigned from an assistant principal position at Gloucester High School, effective June 5; Tracey Wiggs resigned from a paraprofessional position at Bethel, effective June 5; Judy Burggraf resigned from a seventh grade math teaching position at Peasley, effective June 8; Kristin Dennen resigned from a first grade teaching position at Petsworth, effective June 8; Hilary Falkenberg resigned from a Spanish teaching position at GHS, effective June 8; Dorsey Hooker resigned from a health and physical education teaching position at GHS, effective June 8; Nancy Palkovics resigned from a biology teaching position at GHS, effective June 8; Erinn Peterson resigned from a seventh grade English language arts teaching position at Page, effective June 8; Kimberly Robins retired from an art teaching position at Petsworth, effective June 8; Lydia Sarpong resigned from a fifth grade teaching position at Abingdon, effective June 8; Aprill Smith resigned from a fourth grade teaching position at Bethel, effective June 8; Natalie Smith resigned from a science teaching position at Page, effective June 8; Heavenly Wells resigned from a special education teaching position at Page, effective June 8; Stephanie Wright resigned from a special education teaching position at Bethel, effective June 8; Brittany Croft resigned from an athletic trainer position at GHS, effective June 30; Jillanna Daniel resigned from a school counselor position at GHS, effective June 30; Keisha Hill resigned from a school psychologist position, effective June 30; and Deborah Lawson retired from a preschool teaching position at Bethel, effective July 1.
