Artwork covering patriotic themes, American traditions, nostalgia, and history will be on display throughout July at the Bay School Community Arts Center in conjunction with Mathews County’s VA250 celebration. The show, “Americana,” opens with a reception from 5-7 p.m. tomorrow, Friday, June 26, in the Art Speaks Gallery, 279 Main Street, Mathews. Varying mediums have been used for the show, including fiber, photographs, hanging art, paintings, wearables, 3-D, pottery, multimedia, and jewelry. All visitors will receive a free raffle ticket for “something fun,” said a press release, and drinks and finger foods will be available. Offers from local restaurants Mathews Grill & Deli, Mi Casa Azteca, and The Seafood Shack will be available for gallery visitors reception night only.
