July 4 showing of PBS 250th special at MHS

The Mathews County VA250 Committee and the Court House Players invite the public to a free community watch party for the national PBS broadcast of “America Made in Virginia: 250 Years Together” on Saturday, July 4, in the Harry M. Ward Auditorium at Mathews High School. Doors will open at 7:30 p.m., with the live broadcast airing from 8 until 10 o’clock. Concessions will be available for purchase, said a press release. This special national broadcast will celebrate the nation’s founding through music, historical storytelling, patriotic performances, and spectacular Fourth of July festivities originating from the very place where America’s journey toward independence began, Colonial Williamsburg.
