Parsonage’s basket party, ice cream and cake

115 YEARS AGOThursday, June 28, 1906from the Mathews Journal The basket party that is to take place at the home of Mr. Charles Crockett for the benefit of the parsonage fund of the Providence Methodist Church will be a good affair. The people of Providence are noted for doing things in the right way and this social event will run in the same old way as its predecessors. Everyone who is a member of the church will bring a large basket full of good things for the benefit of those who attend. Ice cream, lemonade and a few other delicacies will be on sale. The proceeds of which will go to the parsonage.
