Mathews High School soccer standout Sal Cardenas, a forward on this year’s Blue Devil team, was selected as a member of the VHSL Class 1 All-State Boys Soccer second team. Cardenas, who graduated from MHS on May 30, was also a premier wrestler for the Blue Devils, placing fourth in his weight class at the state tournament earlier this year.
