The Mathews Outdoor Club will hold its fourth annual Islander Regatta, a nine-mile paddle around Gwynn’s Island, on Saturday, June 27, with the event coinciding with the Gwynn’s Island Festival. Paddlers will launch at 8 a.m. from the Islander Motel, which will also serve as the regatta’s finish line.

Registration for the event will remain open through June 25. The cost is $65 per person. Tandem kayaks, eight-person racing shells, paddle boats and dragon boats are permitted as long as they are human-powered and not motorized.
