Dorothy “Dot” L. Fox, age 86, of Hayes, entered into God’s presence on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at her home, surrounded by loved ones.

Dot was the daughter of John H. Strange and Betty Porter Strange of Port St. Joe, Florida.

Dot met the love of her life, Norris Joseph Hogge, while he was stationed at Tindall AFB. They married in 1955. Together, they had four precious children and were stationed in Guam at Anderson AFB. There, they created happy memories with family and enjoyed island life. They retired from Eglin AFB in Florida and later returned to Gloucester, Va., to be close to Norris’s family.

Dot was an active member of the Union Baptist Church and loved her church family. She was a stay-at-home mom and housewife. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending time with her circle of friends.

Dot was preceded in death by her husband, Norris J. Hogge; her parents, John and Betty Strange; two sisters, Christina Edens and Pearl Conrad, and two brothers, Buddy Strange and Ed Strange.

She leaves behind four children to cherish her memory, Danny Hogge (Sheila), Randy Hogge, Jody Hogge (Ginger), and Renee Hiniker (Raymond). She also leaves behind five grandchildren, Jonathan Hogge (Lola), Danielle Hogge (April), Ashley Kellum (Nick), Eric Coates (Amber), and Whitley Thompson (Justin); step-grandchildren, C.K. Ambrose (Donna) and Robert E. Ambrose (Amanda), and 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Mary Grace Freeman, and many nieces and nephews.

Dot was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed.

The family received friends at Hogg Funeral Home on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 10-11 a.m. The interment was private.
