Pam Hannon’s oil painting “Topping #2” won first place in the RAL Art Center’s “Chesapeake and Beyond” exhibit, which opened on June 2 at the Kilmarnock gallery. Second place went to Mel Neale’s pastel, “Heading Home,” and third place to Richard Harmon’s photograph, “Guardian of the Passage.” It was announced that the winner of the People’s Choice Award in the May exhibit, “Close Ups,” was “City Street in the Rain” by Doug Mock. Coming up on Saturday, June 27, from 4-7 p.m. is the 19th annual “Great Art Heist,” RAL’s biggest fundraiser, at which 118 pieces of art will be auctioned off.
