Roy Douglas Smith Sr. of Philadelphia, formerly of Mathews, died on Oct. 23, 2024.

He was preceded in death by his son, Roy Douglas Smith Jr.; his mother, Ethel Lee Smith; two sisters, Pauline Ward and Estelle Foster, and brother, Welford Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Smith; daughters, Cynthia Smith, Deborah Ellis, Kim Smith, Pamela McNeill, Zanetta Robinson-Sargent, Kindle Burrows, Lynda Smith, and Kim Harris; one son, Roy Smith Jr., and two sisters, Mary Montague and Mattie Holmes.

The family will receive friends at a memorial service at Emmaus Baptist Church, North, at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9.
