JV Lady Devils end season with win over K&Q

The Mathews High School JV volleyball team finished its season last Thursday with a 3-0 win on the road against King and Queen’s Royal Tigers. In the first set, Marley Brock got the first kill for the Devils. She went on to serve three aces in that set. Natalie Davis, Mya Schroeder, Carter Hayes and Delaney Boatman served one ace apiece, and Davis and Schroeder also earned a kill. Harmony Smith served two aces, one of which was the last point, ending the first set 25-10. The second set fired up the crowd with many kills from Mathews. Brock gets the first kill in the second set. Davis served two aces and Schroeder served three. Boatman got a smart setters’ dump and Schroeder got a kill to end the second set. Once again, Mathews won, 25-13. As it was the last game for both teams, they agreed to play a third set.
