Editor, Gazette-Journal: Voting for April Edwards, for me, is the only responsible thing to do. When you look at her experience, the cases she has closed here in Mathews, and her passion for the job in a time where most people are running from working in law enforcement, I see no other choice. Most of us have seen the differences in education, experience and accomplishments posted on social media between the two candidates and those differences are what tell me she is the only qualified candidate. I have seen her empathy for people firsthand and to hear her talk about her love for the job and the people of this county tell me all I need to know. I have watched her talk to a young man who had gotten in trouble for something at one time and watched him tell her how he was doing good and staying out of trouble and you could see the respect he had for her and how proud she was of him.
