90 expected to graduate Saturday at MHS

Ninety Mathews High School seniors are expected to receive their diplomas this Saturday when the school holds its annual commencement exercises at 2 p.m. in the school’s Harry M. Ward Auditorium.

Leading this year’s class will be co-valedictorians Kathryn Bray and Sterling “Scooter” Ransone III and salutatorian Michael Bligiotis. Bray and Ransone ended their academic careers at MHS with identical 4.53 grade point averages, while Bligiotis compiled a 4.5 GPA.

Bray, the daughter of Troy and Lee Anne Bray of Dutton, will be attending Liberty University in the fall. Ransone, the son of Drs. Sterling and Karen Ransone of Cobbs Creek, will be going to the College of William and Mary. Bligiotis, the son of Robert and Mary Bligiotis of Mathews, is headed to Bridgewater College.
