65+ units participate in Mathews parade

More than 65 units participated in Saturday afternoon’s Mathews Christmas Parade, “Christmas Melodies,” as it wound its way from Thomas Hunter Middle School to the Bank of America building.

Trophies were awarded to the following entries:

Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree, Best Walking Entry; Equestrian Sisters of Susan, Best Animal Entry; The Giving Garden Foundation, Best Civic Entry; Mathews Baptist Church, Best Church Entry; Lee-Jackson Elementary School, Best School Entry; Classic Cruisers Car Club, Paul James, Best Antique Vehicle Entry;

Also, Ready Reef, Inc., Best Big Truck Entry; Khedive Shriners’ mini 18-wheelers, Best Small Motor Entry; Bush Construction, Best Parade Theme; Josie Thorpe of the Mathews Historical Society with Santa Claus, Best Pickup Truck Entry, and Morse Enterprises, Inc., Best Commercial Entry.
