52 teams take part in local Alzheimer’s walk

The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s was held on Saturday on Gloucester Main Street.

According to Alzheimer’s Association’s Signature Events Coordinator Madison Wilkins 52 teams and about 110 people come out to take part in the event. Gloucester residents John and Robin Musser hosted Saturday’s walk.

In June, John Musser rowed for 24 hours while raising funds for the association. Before the walk began, Musser spoke to the attendees, sharing the personal story of his family’s battle with Alzheimer’s. Robin has been diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s.

Wilkins said the association has currently raised $69,934 to fight Alzheimer’s, which is close to its goal of $85,000. She said there is still time for others to donate. To donate and to find more information, go to http://act.alz.org/2021MPNN.
