5 Gloucester shoreline projects approved

The Gloucester County Wetlands Board approved five shoreline improvement applications during its Dec. 13 meeting in the colonial courthouse.

Donna Granahan received authorization to construct 360 linear feet of riprap revetment and 250 cubic yards of beach nourishment adjacent to property situated along the Piankatank River at 11808 Deep Point Lane. Also, environmental programs coordinator Linda Walthall said the board approved Granahan’s request to construct two riprap spur breakwaters: one 45’ long x 16’ wide and the other 65’ long and 16’ wide. In granting approval of her application, Walthall said, the board noted the severely eroded bank there.

Following a separate public hearing, the board approved the application of Raymond and Katherine Mazzocco.
