474 turkeys distributed at Woodville Park

The Bread for Life Community Food Pantry held its annual turkey distribution on Nov. 21 at Woodville Park.

This year, the Bread for Life volunteers and clients experienced beautiful weather, a complete opposite from 2018, which was hit by heavy rain.

This year, the pantry purchased 600 turkeys from the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank and distributed 474 turkeys in the park. The remaining turkeys were later handed out from the pantry to those clients who did not have transportation to the park.

The annual turkey distribution is possible with the dedicated volunteers from the Bread for Life Food Pantry and support from Gloucester Parks and Recreation, a release stated. ...
