36 applicants in running for county administrator post

Thirty-six applicants have been chosen by a search firm to be interviewed for Gloucester County’s next county administrator. The board will likely set dates to interview potential candidates in the coming weeks, according to Ashley Chriscoe, chairman of the Gloucester Board of Supervisors.

Chriscoe said the application deadline for candidates seeking the position was Aug. 10. “There is a likelihood that at our next meeting we will discuss interview dates to meet with potential candidates,” Chriscoe said. The board will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the colonial courthouse.

In June, county supervisors voted to pay $21,000 to Waters & Company Executive Recruitment, a Texas-based consulting firm, to conduct the search process for the county’s next chief executive.
