32 GHS athletes set personal bests at Hampton meet

Gloucester High School indoor track and field athletes began 2016 with other teams in Conference 10 in a meet Monday at the Boo Williams Sportsplex in Hampton. Several Dukes qualified for the Conference 10 Meet during the event and 32 set personal records. 

Gloucester senior Mia Robinson started the field events by clearing nine feet in the pole vault to set a personal record and qualify for the Group 5A State Meet. 

The “B” 3200-meter relay team of Laura Tobin, Ainsley Miller, Makala White and Alyssa Lass was fourth in 11:48.68 and the 1600 relay team of Lauren Hill, Robinson, Elizabeth Thomas and Ruby Williams was fourth in 4:37.78. Hill won the 1000-meter race in 3:24 to qualify for the conference meet and set a personal record. Williams was third in the 500 in 1:28.48 and Allison Kladler was seventh in the 1600 in 7:11.69.
