3 teachers appointed in Gloucester

The Gloucester School Board made several appointments for the current school year during its special meeting last Thursday.

Molly Martin of Gloucester Point was appointed as a math teacher at Peasley Middle School, effective Sept. 28. Heather Hagberg of Gloucester was appointed as a special education teacher at Bethel Elementary and Jami Weidman of Roanoke was appointed as a math teacher at Gloucester High School, both effective Sept. 30.

Also, Valerie West of Hayes was appointed as a teacher assistant at Abingdon Elementary, effective Oct. 5. Appointed as division mentors for the current school year were Linda Baumler, Allen Fulford and Rhonda Quinn.

Resignations were accepted from support services employees Audra George, effective Sept. 24, and Tammy Hughes, effective Sept. 28. A resignation was also accepted from Petsworth Elementary teacher assistant Danielle Faison, effective Oct. 9.
