The Mathews Rotary Club held its Spanish Mackerel Fishing Tournament on Saturday at Morningstar Marinas in Hudgins. Twenty-seven boats registered, vying for the $4,000 total purse. First place at $2,000 was Allen Palmer’s boat, second place at $1,000 was Kyle Flippin’s boat and third place at $700 was Greyson Dehoux’s boat. There were also three $100 winners: Brandy Larson (female), Jackson Rhodes (junior) and Bruce Noble (senior). Noble also won $410 in the 50/50 raffle and Mike Pittman won the one-year Sea Tow membership raffle. Sponsors included Swords Marine, Sea Tow, Atlantic Coast Fishing Charters, Chesapeake Bank, Tri-Rivers Investments, Karen Puttman Fine Arts, and K.A.
