$24,000+ raised for Gloucester schools at run/walk

The Gloucester County Public Schools Educational Foundation 15th annual 8K, 3K and Virtual 5K run/walk held on Saturday, March 14, netted proceeds of over $24,000, which is the highest amount the event has brought in during its history. The money raised will go toward funding the 2026 Teacher of the Year Recognition in May 2026 and classroom mini-grants to be awarded in November/December 2026. Mini-grants, which are up to $500 each, cover a wide range of classroom needs addressing advanced technology, arts, reading, special education, etc. They can be used over multiple years to enhance the educational experience of Gloucester County students. “Seeing our community come together for this race was truly inspiring,” said Michelle Stone, chair of the Gloucester Educational Foundation. “We’re grateful for the runners, volunteers, and sponsors whose support will help provide meaningful educational opportunities for students right here in Gloucester.” This year, there were 542 total race reg...
