Twenty-two runners took part Saturday in the By Appointment 5K held at Williams Wharf in Mathews on Saturday under sponsorship of Virginia Tidewater Trailrunners.

Given individual starts and timed separately, runners finished as follows: Daniel Lunsford, first, 19:52; Thomas Jenkins, second, 20:16.6; and Lance South, third, 20:37.1.

The fourth-place winner was the first female finisher, Haley Uliasz at 21:21.4. Lindsay Newell finished seventh overall in 24:43.1 to take the second-place among females, and in third place was her follower, Tracey Tunstall in 25:48.9.

Event organizer Christine Johnson said the race was a huge success, not necessarily in number of runners “but in the feedback from everyone and their adherence to social distancing. We will definitely do it again.”
