2,000+ expected to attend Gloucester Wine Festival

The seventh annual Gloucester Wine Festival will kick off at 11 a.m. Saturday at Brent and Becky’s Bulbs, Ware Neck. Over 2,000 people are expected to fill the gardens, where they will sample from a dozen wineries and enjoy the many food and craft vendors that will be participating.

“We couldn’t be more excited for it to be here,” said Gloria Williams, executive director of the Gloucester Chamber of Commerce, which hosts the wine festival. “We’re really excited about the new food vendors this year, which will provide a variety of options, including oysters; and the fact that our entertainment, SlapNation, will be performing an extended set.”

Other new vendors this year include the Village Blacksmith, which will be conducting forging demonstrations. Also, Williams said, the Bay School Cultural Arts Center of Mathews and Gloucester Arts on Main will team up to provide joint demonstrations this year.
