2 GHS wrestlers advance to state tournament

Dukes wrestling will send two representatives at the VHSL Class 5 State Tournament following strong performances at the Class 5, Region A contest, hosted at Green Run High School last weekend.

Cameron Walker (senior, 220 lbs.) and Austin Glockner (freshman, 138 lbs.) finished first and fourth, respectively, in the 5A East Region Championship. Gloucester High also had Ethan Lineberry (senior, 152 lbs.), Khayled Whiting (junior, 192 lbs.), and Ethan Parr (sophomore, 126 lbs.) finish in the top six of their respective weight classes, though they did not qualify.

For Walker, this represents his fourth year of qualifying for the state tournament. He finished fourth in the state his freshman year, third his sophomore year, and second his junior year. 

Coach John Glockner expects Walker to win the state title this time around.
