2 GHS rowers medal at world indoor championships

Thirteen Gloucester High School rowers participated in the inaugural World Indoor Rowing Championships at T.C. Williams High School in Alexandria last weekend. Two returned with medals and several posted personal best times. 

Olivia Schulz earned a bronze medal in the 14-year-old lightweight women’s 2K event with a time of 8:19.3 and Zane Musick-Williams earned a silver medal in the 16-year-old lightweight men’s 2K with a personal best time of 6:48.4. 

Kaley Price-Kaleikini also turned in an outstanding effort and placed sixth in the 17-year-old women’s open weight 2K event with a personal best time of 7:39.9.  In the 15-year-old lightweight men’s 2K event, Michael Ziegenfus led four GHS rowers and placed 21st with a personal best time of 7:50.8. Pace Peterson in 8:16.9, Trent Fox in 8:22.1 and Colin Veraque in 8:30.8 all recorded personal best times in the event.
