2 community health screenings to be held in Mathews

Community health screenings for Mathews County residents will be held on Main Street in Mathews in front of Storybound Construction from 10 a.m. until noon on two upcoming Saturdays—Aug. 21 and Sept. 11.
Screening services offered will include body mass index, blood pressure and HbA1c (test for determining diabetes).
Screenings will be conducted by clinical staff and volunteers of Gloucester Mathews Care Clinic, and this screening is made possible through a grant from the Mathews Rotary Club and Gloucester Rotary Club. Rotarians will also be on hand to provide additional volunteer support.
Participants will also receive health information related to diabetes and hypertension, information on eligibility and services offered by GMCC, along with healthy snacks. Those without health insurance are encouraged to attend. GMCC is pleased to partner with Mathews Rotary Club in providing this community service.
