163 youngsters take part in MEGA Sports Camp

Little Lights and LightHouse on Route 17 at Ordinary recently hosted its MEGA Sports Camp, giving 163 kindergarteners through eighth graders a fun week of athletic skills and competition.

Participants in the camp, which was held July 17-21, chose between basketball, cheerleading or soccer.

“It didn’t matter if they’d played all their life or just started. MEGA Sports Camp helped kids improve their skills,” a release from LightHouse said. All sorts of drills and practice games kept kids focused on the fundamentals. More than 100 volunteers helped make the camp possible.

Between sports sessions, coaches led in songs and helped campers experience inspiring sports and Bible stories, the release stated. 

The Team Spirit weekly theme included the memory verse Ephesians 4:32, “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other just as in Christ, God forgave you.” The community rallied around this camp with donations for weeklong use of ...
