Sixteen Gloucester businesses were among the winners of this year’s Virginia Living Magazine’s Best of Eastern Virginia Awards, according to a press release from county’s Department of Economic Development.

First-place winners and their respective categories included: Bangkok Noi Thai Cuisine and Sushi on Main, Gloucester Court House (Best Asian Restaurant); Juan’s Mexican Café and Cantina, Hayes (Best Mexican Restaurant); Bridgewaters Salon and Spa, White Marsh (Best Day Spa and also Best Hair Salon); Tony & Milena’s Pizzeria, Hayes (Best Italian Restaurant).

Second-place winners included: Kelsick Specialty Market, Gloucester (Best Local Gourmet Grocery Store); Sandy Creek Pet Resort, James Store (Best Pet Boarding); Gloucester Veterinary Hospital, Gloucester (Best Veterinary Hospital); Tidewater Physical Therapy, now called Pivot Physical Therapy, Gloucester (Best Physical Therapy Group).
