15 GHS student-athletes sign college letters of intent

Hard work pays off, both in the classroom and on the athletic field, and Gloucester High School took time out last Wednesday morning to celebrate 15 of its student-athletes who have earned the right to compete at the next level.

During the program, the students signed letters of intent committing to the colleges they will be attending, and playing for, in the fall. Dozens of family members and friends attended, representing years of sacrifice and dedication on the part of the student-athletes.

A majority of the GHS seniors taking part in the signing ceremony—nine of the 15—were part of last year’s undefeated state championship field hockey team.
