Rising Valley Baptist Church, James Store, will celebrate its 145th anniversary with a special service at 2 p.m. Sunday. According to a church history, a few members of the neighborhood left the parent church, Zion Poplars Baptist, in the spring of 1880, “to build a church closer to their community.”
