A total of 110 racers participated in the first-ever Mathews Marathon and Half Marathon on Saturday. According to Christine Johnson, president of Mathews Outdoor Club, Saturday’s event went well with “great weather, great energy and [a] great crowd.”

John Bruno was the overall male winner of the marathon with a time of 3:06:37.9. James Towey came in first place for the Male Masters category with a time of 3:47:27.3. Bruno came in first for the Male Under 40 category.

Haley Uliasz was the overall female winner of the marathon with a time of 3:45:02.2 and also claimed first place in the Female Under 40 category. Robin Olsen came in first for the Female Masters category with a time of 5:12:48.6.Bobby Beasley was the overall male winner of the half marathon, finishing the race with a time of 1:18:06.9. Douglas Marshall placed first in the half marathon Male Masters category with a time of 1:33:30.0 and Beasley claimed first for the Male Under 40 category.
