11 graduate from Ware Academy June 1

Ware Academy held its 2018 commencement on June 1 at Ware Episcopal Church. Ware Head of School Thomas L. Thomas III shared personal stories about each of the 11 eighth graders who were departing the school. 

Thomas capped his address with a quote from Abraham Lincoln, “The best way to predict the future is to create it.” Commencement speaker Raymond Googe, a member of Ware Academy’s Class of 2005, also encouraged the graduates to approach life with boldness and create their own destiny. 

Among awards to the eighth graders was the Headmaster’s Award presented to Taylor Berry for “contributing the most to the school community in terms of academic achievement, leadership qualities and display of positive character.”

Brenna Hendrix received the Founder’s Award for her academic contributions to the school and Jacob Brown received the Constance Ingles Award for Improvement, recognizing him for his motivation, consistent effort and stead...
