In youth football action Saturday, the 10U Gloucester Outlaws defeated the Henrico Chargers by a score of 19-6 while the 12U team won their bout against the Chargers, 20-18.
For the 10U, the Outlaws took a 6-0 lead going into the half after D.J. Briggs scored on a fumble recovery. The Outlaws had two more fumble recoveries by Steffan Giddings and Ryain Ward.
In the second half Khaidyn Spencer found the end zone twice and ran in a two-point conversion each time. Spencer rushed for over 135 yards on six carries. Noah Hill added another 45 yards as the Outlaws rushed for over 200 yards combined.
The 12U Outlaws won its close game after Torenzo Collins made a critical catch in the final minutes of the game to set up the game-winning touchdown. The other performance of note came from Baum Hogge who scored three touchdowns for the Outlaws. The defense also showed up, recording five sacks against the Chargers.
