108 exhibitors take part in Daffodil Show

The largest Garden Club of Virginia daffodil show in the history of the club was held at Ware Academy in Gloucester last Thursday and Friday. Several local residents won notable awards at the show, which was also an American Daffodil Society (ADS) Mid-Atlantic Regional Show.

There were 2,130 blooms entered by 108 exhibitors in 1,046 exhibits, according to ADS Mid-Atlantic Regional director Ceci Brown. The exhibitors included members from 46 statewide GCV clubs, as well as ADS members from North Carolina, Maryland, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Virginia.

Garden Club of Gloucester member Jaye DuPaul received the GCV award, honoring the hostess club, with her entry, Stratosphere (7 Y-O). Twenty GCG members entered this class, Brown said.
