Elva Gerlach, formerly of Mathews, recently celebrated her 104th birthday with a party in her honor at the Mathews Woman’s Club. Among those attending were her daughters Barbara Bass, standing at left, Claudia Temple, standing at right, and son Mark Gerlach, center. Also in attendance were five of her grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous guests.
