Margaret Grace (King) Smoker will celebrate her 100th birthday on Wednesday, Dec. 8. Born in Coatesville, Pennsylvania, she married Raymond Smoker in December 1941, moved to Newport News in the spring of 1958, then moved to Gloucester in the summer of 1973. She is the mother of five children—Verda Bennett (Robert), Nancy Nelson (Joe), Norma Brennamen (Charlie) all of Newport News; Sanford Smoker (Karen) of Gloucester and Marlin Smoker (Terri) of Coatesville. She has 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
