Tammy Sue West, age 43, of Salem, Mass., died Friday, July 29, 2011, at the Pilgrim Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Peabody, Mass., following a long illness.

A native of Mathews, she was the daughter of Leona M. Belvin of Salem, and the late Lewis H. West Sr. She moved to Salem at the age of six in 1975. Prior to her illness, she worked for Analogic, Thermal Circuit and Sunburst Juices.

Tammy was deeply loved by her family and many friends she leaves behind. She had a "heart of gold," always had a smile on her face, was willing to help anyone, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her mother, Leona M. Belvin of Salem; two brothers, Lewis H. West Jr. (Bubba) of Danvers, Mass., and Kevin M. Dion of Malden, Mass.; maternal grandparents, James and Delma Belvin of New Point, Va., as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, at 2 p.m. in St. Paul Annex Cemetery, with the Rev. Edward Harrow officiating.
