Six starters return on Lady Dukes’ softball team

Gloucester is also adding six newcomers to the roster.
All Eastern Region selections senior Leta Bressin and sophomore Hannah Joyce are back in the outfield and senior All-District picks Ashley Moore and Karli Robb will play infield. All-District First Team choice Taylor Distefano, a sophomore, is back on the mound for the Dukes and returning junior Jillian Everett will join Bressin and Joyce in the outfield.
Kristie Hoeffer, a senior All-Region and state honorable mention transfer from Woodside will play shortstop this season, with Robb moving to second base. Moore, who has started at third since her freshman year, could see some time at catcher along with junior Kasey Von Engle.
Freshman Makayla Jenkins will see time pitching and at first base, sharing time there with junior first baseman Ashley Williams. Freshman Gabby Zarichny will see playing time at third and Amber Cook, Shelby Wigginton and Brittany Balderson round out the roster.
