School personnel changes approved in Gloucester

The Gloucester County School Board appointed Rose Spangler of Gloucester, as a special education teacher at Botetourt Elementary School and Matthew Ebersole of Williamsburg, as a language arts teacher at Peasley Middle School in personnel actions taken at its June 24 special meeting.

The board also accepted resignations from Gloucester High School assistant principal Kristen Carroll, Walker Elementary School librarian Mary Rainier, Petsworth Elementary School special education teacher James Miller, database services coordinator Allen S. Varner, and custodian Maria Northrop.

The board also approved retirement for Page Middle School nurse Marie Perk and Achilles Elementary School paraprofessional Fanny Wescott. In addition, Botetourt fourth grade teacher Rhonda Taylor was transferred to Achilles.
