School briefs

Christopher Ivey graduated with honors from Johns Hopkins University during commencement ceremonies May 21. Ivey received a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering and took concentrated studies in aerospace engineering, completing his degree in three years. While at Johns Hopkins, Ivey won the NASA Aeronautics Scholarship Program Undergraduate Fellowship. He will pursue a doctorate in mechanical engineering this fall at Stanford University under a Stanford Graduate Fellowship and a Department of Energy Computational Science Graduate Fellowship. Ivey is the son of Barry and Pamela Ivey of Gloucester Point, and the grandson of Ann Binford of Mathews and Poquoson. 

Katherine Ruth Woodson received a master of arts degree in teaching English as a second language from the University of Texas at San Antonio during commencement ceremonies in May.
