Gloucester students advance to international competition

A Gloucester High School freshman and a team of three Peasley Middle School students are headed to the Future Problem Solving Program International Competition next month at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

The Peasley team of eighth graders Shelby Jacobs, Cheyanne Johnson and Madison Johnston placed third in the Virginia Future Problem Solving State Bowl held at Powhatan High School on April 12 and 13 and earned a bid to the international competition. They competed in Global Issues Problem Solving were coached by Peasley teacher Cherise Bogue.

Bo Rose, a GHS freshman, won first place in the Middle Division for Scenario Writing, which includes seventh, eighth and ninth graders. Rose also earned a spot in the international competition and was coached by Peasley teacher Diana Chapman.
