Blue named to technology post with Gloucester schools

Stephen Blue of Deltaville was named the coordinator of technology services in personnel actions taken by the Gloucester County School Board during its May 25 work session. 

The appointment was effective May 1. Blue previously was the audio/visual support specialist for Gloucester County. 

Also, Lisa Munson of Gloucester was named an administrative associate/bookkeeper at Petsworth Elementary, effective May 28. 

Appointed as teachers for the 2019-2020 school year were Hannah Wilburn of Newport News, Lynnette Johnson of Gloucester, Stephanie Nelson of Radford, Samantha Otto of Hudgins, and Carly Zeh of Hayes. 

Resignations were accepted from Abingdon kindergarten teacher Blair Rhodes, effective June 10, and support service employees Amy Alexander, effective April 10; Vickie LeBlond, effective June 10; and Sabrina Ogle, effective June 7. 

Resignations from positions paid by supplement were accepted from Gloucester High School boys’ volleyball coach Joshua Nichols, effective April 18, Page Middle School field hockey coach and basketball assistant coach Kristi Parker, effective April 10; and Page field hockey assistant coach Nancy Kast, effective April 10. 

Retirement was approved for Abingdon special edu-

cation teacher Julie Bieler and supports services employees Thomas Hogge Jr. and Karl Schulday, all effective July 1.

tions paid by supplement, Dorsey Hooker switched from GHS varsity assistant baseball coach to junior varsity head coach while Anthony Morande and John Mathews will split the varsity assistant’s job.
